MISSION & VISION

Mission: To engage, inspire and mobilize people, programs, partners and funding to provide a safe place, especially for kids, to learn, play and recreate.

Vision: Kids, adults and families active and connected to the community.

The ARRC is truly an example of the power of community. Starting in 1997, hundreds of local people and community groups came together to raise funding to support the building of a community center in Ukiah, to be used by people of all ages, incomes and abilities. It took many years, three phases of construction, and a LOT of fundraising effort—but today that vision is a reality and the ARRC is a fully functioning nonprofit organization serving the entire community.

Hundreds of Ukiah’s children use the ARRC every day. They are bussed here from all Ukiah Unified School District elementary schools to participate in the Boys & Girls Club afterschool program. This vital resource provides families with a safe, affordable and engaging option for their kids while parents are at work. Through the Family Resource Center, young children aged 0 - 5 and their parents enjoy free bilingual programming each day. Local people with disabilities partake weekly in networking, socialization and physical fitness through the ABC Opportunities day program and Special Olympics basketball. Ukiah’s  youth and their families attend Open ARRC every week for a safe, fun and FREE space in which to play, exercise and meet new friends. And through the City of Ukiah’s Recreation Department, hundreds of local people participate in classes, sports camps and youth sports leagues all year round.

The ARRC is about inclusion and prevention, health and wellness. If you would like to join us in our mission please Get Involved or Donate today. Together we can create a brighter, healthier future for the Ukiah Valley.
