Making ARRC a Little Greener

The Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah has partnered with 4-H Program Representative Linda Edgington, and Sarah Marshall from the NCO Gardens Project, to build raised garden beds in the outside area behind the recreation center. Thanks to Randy Huffman at Agwood Mill & Lumber, Inc. for donating wood for the first garden bed. Two additional beds will be made possible by wood donated by Linda Edington and delivered by Club staff member Debrielle Ingram. The NCO Gardens Project is donating compost for the beds. Bed number one will contain the ingredients for a salsa garden, bed number two will be for a three sister’s garden, and bed number three is a regular green salad garden. We will also be putting in a sunflower house and herb garden. Thank you to the parents, members, and staff volunteers who dedicated their Saturday morning to building the first raised garden bed.
